Managing Partners:

Pedro

 Pedro Cortez, President
A UT grad, Pedro grew up in Sinton, a small farming community outside Corpus Christi.  He headed to Dallas in 1999 and after a job change and spending 2000 in Corpus Pedro was back in Dallas in 2001, and this time he plans to stay awhile.  His first love is softball closely followed by flag football and he's no strager to the Big D Sponsor Bars.  His favorite Dallas spots are The Stone Elephant, Pluckers Wing Bar & Winetastic.  He and Susan (Big D Athletic Director) married in 2005 and spend their free time traveling, wine tasting and hanging out with their four pets (2 dogs: Miken and Easton & 2 cats: Husker and Depeche).  At Big D tailgates he'll be the one by the grill putting his cooking skills to work.  Sports run the Cortez family with both of his younger brothers playing college ball, one an offensive lineman at Texas A&M Kingsville and the other a pitcher for both Texas and Arizona, making it to the College World Series with both teams.

Susan

Susan Cortez, Athletics
Susan left Nebraska to attend college at TCU and has been in the metroplex ever since, but she's still a Nebraska girl at heart and follows her Huskers closely.  She's an avid sports fan keeping up with all Dallas teams but her favorites are the Rangers and Cowboys.  She knows enough stats to make most guys envious, but you'd probably never guess she was on her high school drill team.  Susan has an affinity of 80s bands including Depeche Mode (hence the cat named Depeche) and Poison, Fallen Angel is at the top of the list.  Out and about in Dallas you'll probably catch her at Winetastic enjoying a glass of wine or on the patio at Barley House.  Hang out at The Stone Elephant on Thursdays after football and you might be lucky enough to catch Susan and Pedro up on the karaoke stage.

Jeff

Jeff Sampson, Partnership and Sponsor Relations
A Texas native, Jeff grew up in Houston and still roots for the Astros.  He headed to Dallas after graduating from Texas A&M and has been here ever since.  He's a fan of the Blue Goose and you'll probably find him down at the Greenville location at least once a week.  Jeff plays a lot of softball, a lot of poker and likes to scuba dive when he's on vacation in the islands.  If you get the chance, ask him about the time he played poker with William Hung in Vegas.

 Russ

Russ Burchard, Events
Russ made his way to Dallas via San Diego, CA and Middleton, ID and has called Dallas home for the last 28 years. He's got a pretty wide array of interests and his first career was actually as a professional musician.  Russ is also a pretty good poker player, roots for the Cowboys and volleyball is his favorite sport to play.  When he's not planning those great Big D social events you'll probably catch him out at Red River, umpiring a softball or volleyball tournament, or heading out of town to his favorite vacation spot, Punta Cana, D.R.  At a party he'll be the one mixing up a unique cocktail by the bar.
