Rules:

  • Games are played on a half court.  Teams must have three players to start the game.
  • Games will be two 20 min halves.  Clock will run continuous.
  • A coin toss will designate first possession. Alternating possessions will be in effect afterwards.
  • Each team has one thirty-second timeout per game.
  • Substitutions can only be made during time outs, injuries, and dead balls.
  • Only the team captain, who may or may not be a player, may consult with the referee and can only do so during a dead ball.
  • Each team is allowed 6 fouls.  After the 6th team foul (starting with the 7th team foul), 1 point will be awarded for each subsequent foul.  These are all fouls (i.e. shooting, offensive, or defensive fouls).
  • Violations will be called (three seconds, out of bounds, etc).  The ball will change possession on violations.
  • The possession changes after each made basket.
  • The “Take Back Line” is determined by the three point arc.  The ball must be beyond this mark at the beginning of each possession.
  • On defensive rebounds (excluding airballs) and steals, the ball must be passed or dribbled beyond the Take Back Line. The ball does not need to be given to a different player. As long as the ball goes beyond the arc, there are no limitations on who can shoot it.
  • “Checking” the ball is required after every made basket.  After checking the ball, the “point” player has the option to dribble or pass the ball into play.
  • If the ball is knocked out of bounds or goes across the mid court line it shall be awarded to the opposing team (the team that did not knock it out).
  • Alternating possession on all jump ball situations will be in effect.
  • Out-Of-Bounds. If the ball goes out-of-bounds the offensive team must check the ball with the defensive team at the top of the key.

Scoring:

  • Any shot made beyond the three-point arc will be awarded 2 points.
  • Any shot made on or within the arc will be awarded 1 point.
  • Any free throw is worth 1 point.
  • Dunking is not allowed.
